Benue Investment & Property Company Limited, BIPC is to set up a demonstration ranch and a talent hunt with the name "Voices of the street" to stomp insecurity in the state.
The Managing Director of the Company, Barr. Alex Ter Adum, made this commitment during an interaction with students of Armed Forces Command Staff College, Jaji at the investment house, Makurdi.
Barr. Adum avarred that the ranch will be structured in two key areas of production and processing of diverse animal husbandry; assuring that it would generate revenue for the state and serve as economic diversity for the people of Benue.
He stated that his management intends to also engaged in a talent hunt that will positively develop the youths as well as institutionalize a scholarship to the best graduating aggregate student of the Benue state university and WAEC student in the state to motivate excellent academic performance amongst youths.
In his remark, the team leader who is the Director, Department of Landwarfare, Brig. Gen. AU kuliya thanked the MD and his Management team for the warm reception and said the agency is here as part of its annual visit to states government in the country.
Brig. Gen. Kuliya stated that their visit is to enable students in his institution consolidate on what they have learnt in school. " We are here to conduct a research and our students will go back and write their research findings after these visit and present it to the college for assessment."
He noted that the Armed Forces is saddled with the responsibility of ensuring peace and security in the society therefore, the team of this year's tour is "accessing States and Local government efforts in enhancing National Security"
He lauded the efforts of the Federal, States and Local government in ensuring maintainance of peace in the country, requesting BIPC to participate in the peace process aimed at reforming and creating a prevailing harmonious atmosphere in the state.
"We are here to appreciate the roles your organization has played in the peace process in the state.
In the quest for clarity, Maj. TM Okol Sgn Ld BN Somaila among other personnel enquired to know BIPCs imput regarding Agricultural value Chain, aid to victims of the Farmer /Herder Crises and the ability to woo investors to the State amidst the prevailing Security Challenges among several other questions which the MD responded.
